According to the papers, Three Lions is set to be banned as to not offend the other nations at the World Cup. Fucking hell this really is pc gone mad hasn't it.
Fwiw I hate the song, drugged up and drunk dickheads on half a shandy screaming it's coming home every tournament makes my blood boil but to ban the song seems like madness.

The first time I heard Sweet Caroline at a sporting event was at Twickenham in 2016 England v Fiji.......it didn't make sense then and it still doesn't now!

All our songs nowadays are just generic shit already sung by other clubs.
The latest one about 'Super David Moyes knowing exactly what we need - some cunt at the back, some cunt in attack' or whatever, is sung by pretty much every club going at the moment.

This song was done to dumb down the support at a home tournament so we got away from all the other songs that could get sung by the masses.
It worked.....and they've been dumbing down the songs ever since......
.....look for example how our favourite song now is 'West Ham are massive everywhere we go'
......a fucking wimp of a song that everyone thinks is clever because it doesn't offend anyone.

It was very much part of the euphoria around 1996 and 1998 tournaments - a time I remember as a great time and had a more positive outlook for the national team. After they booted out Hoddle (who I think could have made England a force), what followed after was an era of overpaid and over rated England players who barely performed under Sven and Capello.
Like many I fell out of love of watching England, haven't bothered in the modern era and the song is tired, way out of date and irrelevant.
Sweet Caroline is an awful overplayed and cringe-worthy replacement though. The sort of song played by cheap wedding DJs when everyone is pissed. As if England football could not get any more embarassing.

Three Lions is one of the best songs ever produced in England.
Artistic quality exempt, the fact a song about 30 years of national footballing heartache has not only lasted almost 30 years of shit itself, but grown in popularity, it testament to it's greatness.
It is annoying, it's repetitive and yes, it is usually sung overly aggressively by coked-up drunks. But it brings those degenerates together in the best way possible and what's more English than that.

I'd rather Three Lions to Sweet Caroline which gets more annoying every time I hear it. At least Three Lions is to do with football.

If enough people care, they'll sing '3 lions' at England games regardless of what the FA want.
Actually,this could be a good test. If '3 lions' gets officially banned then the game really is up,the wokesters have won.
